I have printed the version with the extra .5mm and it works well. If you don't have a skin the original would be good. iPad Mini Retina with Lightning connector dock. The dock is designed to accommodate the Apple Smart Cover and DecalGirls skins. The measurements for the Lightning connector were measured from an Apple cable. The Lightning connector is "TIGHT". Once you get it in, it will take work to get it out. This is what I intended. Print either the original or the one with an extra .5mm (If you have a skin, you will want the extra .5mm). Insert a Lightning Cable, and use it as a doc. Front facing speaker ports directs sound out the front. I did have a small lifting issue on the left and right. I did print with a brim.
