This is a complete redesign of the Rostock 3D printer. It was my senior project in college. The rostrong is BIGGER and BADDER and way more unwieldy than the rostock. For when you need to print BIG things, the rostrong is your printer! With a build area of up to 14"x14", and the delta arm configuration of the rostock, this printer can build up large objects quickly. It's very sturdy, made from makerslide and misumi 2040 extrusions. If you choose the 1000mm makerslide, it has a 7" tall build area. But with the 1800mm, it has a whopping 38" build height! It was designed such that every part can be sourced either from the internet or a 3D printer. No woodcutting needed! I tried to limit it such that there are only ~4 websites that you need to order from (see bill of materials). It will also require about 4 pounds of plastic to print. PLA recommended! Be warned, this printer is still unrefined, so it's rough around the edges. It is also very large! The Bowden tube is long enough that it doesn't work with filaments that have a texture (like silver). It also doesn't currently have a satisfactory heated bed situation. But if you need something printed big, Rostrong is your source! Inspired by the original rostock, of course! http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17175 Also uses a slightly modified version of this file: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:48716I don't have instructions ready, but if enough people ask I will make some. If you're feeling confident, order things from the bill of materials and print out all the parts. Most things are fairly straightforward to assemble, but if you're having trouble I'm willing to help. Feel free to modify and mess around with the source files. Most of them are in .f3d, which is Autodesk Inventor Fusion format. It's a free app for Mac, not sure about windows compatibility. There are a few openSCAD files as well, for the extruder and for the end effector. The firmware with appropriate values for the size of this rostong is included. Otherwise, it is unmodified from the stock Deltabot Marlin firmware from May 2013.
