This is a box for Mitch Altman's Brain Machine. I liked the kit, but thought that it really needs something to keep all the exposed parts safe from being bumped when not in use. Design: The waves on the top of the box are examples of brain waves. From the most noisy to least they are Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta. The order is the rough progression that the brain machine takes from wakefullness to rest.The blobs were hatched using the EggBot hatching tool for inkscape, very handy.The zener cards are just for fun. Version 2 is undecorated, version 3 has all the visual elements. Note: I used the 'delete repeated lines' function on my lasercutter software and got 410 hits, likely from the artwork etching. You might want to do the same if you can.I use 3mm ply from the model store, and cut it at 10mm/sec and 45% power on my 45W laser. Engraving is done as vectors at 60mm/sec and 10% power (the fastest and lowest reiable power possible).Clean up the parts with a wet rag to remove any charring.Glue the main box together and then find some of the loose circles and glue them tight in the corners of the top. This will act as a stop to allow the rounded lid to sit in flush with the surface. The lid has a small handle which is held on by M3 screws and as many spacers as you like. If you'd like it to be stackable you can always remove it and add a finger hole instead to lift the lid.Enjoy!
