As per my usual, insomnia proves to be my muse. On the internet and occasionally in the TV news, there are articles regarding people manufacturing working firearms using 3D printers. Generally, I find this kind of a boring topic because it is a basic technology that has been around for a while. However, it struck me that the issue with using plastic for this field might simply need a paradigm shift in thinking for it to become a bit more useful compared to metals. Thus, this simple track design was born. Who knows, maybe it is useful, maybe it is not. I have not tested it. Probably never will. I've designed things for police departments in the past and there always seems to be some kind of political or negative opinion pressures related to this field. I tend to avoid it unless under contract for such. I throw this idea out into the world in the case that someone in the field might find it helpful. Have a good day. Bill.
