I have some speaker stands that just seemed a little too maleable. When I cranked down the speaker mount friction lock to the aluminum tube of the stand, it bent. :-\ So I designed these inserts to reinforce the tube at the point where my speaker stands put the most pressure on the tube. Ha, take that, physics! Check the inside diameter of your speaker stand. Mine measured around 33mm, give or take a bit. The outside measured something like 34.5mm. At one point I had a very slight taper in the design to allow for bends or indentations when inserting this thing into the tube. I went through several iterations, so I can't remember if this one has that feature. You could of course modify my file to adjust that if you want. I added a lip at the top to prevent the insert from escaping further into the tube than I intended. So far so good.
