My son wanted a pirate theme for his bedroom. We got a few accessories and a very cool shower curtain. But pirate-themed curtain rod holders are hard to find, so I came up with this. These fit 3/4 inch PVC (which should normally only have printing on one side, so it can be hidden). I would recommend the heavier PVC rated for 400psi since the lighter PVC (pictured) tends to sag a bit in the middle on a 6-foot span. These brackets are end-socketed which means you need to get your rings on the rod before mounting the second bracket. See instructions for a suggested mounting strategy.Decide whether you are going to support the rod only on the ends or if you need middle supports. You should be able to print with a 0.3mm layer height. If your printer supports M600 (change filament) and you want to have the crossed cutlasses in a different color (as I did with silver) you want to put the M600 line in your gcode output just after G1 Z54.650 (you get better results if one layer is printed in the base color before changing). Get a length of 400psi 3/4 inch PVC (commonly available for around $2-3 at any building supply place). You'll also need drywall anchors or appropriate screw hardware. Mount one of your end brackets (NOT both just yet). You should be able to use the holes as drilling guides. If you have middle supports you can mount them at this time (note that middle supports only work if you have multiple curtain panels). Insert one end of your PVC pipe through any middle supports (if you're using them) and the end support you've attached to the wall already. Position the other end bracket where you want it horizontally (keeping the PVC pipe level) and mark the PVC pipe halfway through the bracket. Take the PVC pipe down and cut it at the mark. Put the other end bracket (the one you haven't mounted yet) on the PVC pipe, make sure everything is level and drill your holes in the wall for mounting. Do not insert screws yet, but you can put the anchors in after taking down the end bracket and PVC pipe.
