Algae Turf Filter to help reduce nitrates in a marine aquarium. Health warning! This is completely untested since my printer has not yet arrived. It's also my first ever Thing so please be gentle. Anyway... 08/05/2012 - added cut up parts of the model that should fit on a Makerbot Replicator. I've run them all through Rep G and it seems to like them,toolpaths created without complaint. InstructionsYou will also need - a pump, 22/16mm piping/flexible hose, lighting (may I suggest a small aquarium LED lamp?) Optional - a sheet of 260 x 200mm glass or optical grade acrylic. You may want to slice the object up and print it in several different components if it is too large for your printer (I know I will). The device is designed to hang off the side of your sump with the chute leaning into the tank. The hose from your pump attaches to the inlet on the side of the body. You could illuminate the ramp directly, but if like me you don't like the idea of light in your sump you can cover one side of the sheet of glass with rubber, lay the sheet of glass onto the ramp - the little legs on the end are designed to stop it sliding off - and then illuminate the end of the piece of glass with a strip of white LEDs which should illuminate the inside of the chute through a prism effect.Sorry it is untested, but I will update it as I go along!Cheers,James
