ANNOUNCEMENT!!The files for this model have been removed from this page, from now on the files can downloaded for free from www.MyMiniFactory.com. This page will be left for legacy purposes and I will still answer questions if posted. From now on, all my future projects will feature exclusively on www.MyMiniFactory.com. My profile page is https://www.myminifactory.com/users/lilykill.Sorry for any inconvenience. A TITANForALL (See what I did there) With the recent release of Titanfall that I instantly loved I thought I'd recreate the Atlas mech so that anybody can have a titan of their own. My goal is to print the titan to the scale of the collectors edition which is approx 18" tall. The model itself was created in a 1:1 scale and, as you can see, it's almost as detailed as the in-game model and also allows you to print whatever size you want by scaling it to fit your printer bed size. To the avid gamer, they could possibly tell that some geometry is not as it is in game but this is due to my skills being limited in modeling complex surface geometry, but fair to say most of the detail is there and correct. Currently, the model is just a model and could be printed but possibly not assembled due to it being modeled after the game titan. I'm currently working on making the parts easy to assembly by just clipping and snapping them together and hopefully pose-able if possible so keep your eyes peeled for updates. The only STL shown is of the main body at 1:1 scale to show the detail in the model. I will keep a change log in the description with future updates and improvements. When the model is complete and fully printable I will issue a BOM (Bill of Materials) so you know how many of each item to print for a full titan model. Also I will make a exploded view of the titan to show some simple assembly. The files provided are in 1:1 scale and in several formats that should be importable into most 3D CAD packages. All the different formats have been exported and archived into rar files to reduce the file size. The original model was created on SolidWorks 2012 so if anybody wants to add more parts or improve the model go ahead but make sure to give me the credit since it has taken me many hours to create this model. Update 1 - 10/05/2014 Just updated the model because I found a couple errors while using it so I've now saved them and updated the files on here. For the people waiting for it to be completed, I'm currently working on the articulated joints and trying to simplify the model for printing and assembly. Also, thank you to the people who have already test printed the current model. Update 2 31/05/14 Finally, I have completed the model assembly and it is now (in theory) a working action figure. With most the moving joints needing to be ball joints to allow the movement I've made the majority of the balls and sockets removable so that if the fit isnt quite right ill be able to change the tolerances and you would only need to print the updated joints not the whole thing again. The fits between all the leg joints are very tight and the faces are going to be almost an interference fit so that the fiction stops the joints from moving while stationary. All fits and tolerances aren't going to be 100% perfect until I've printed the full model out myself and de-snagged every joint myself but otherwise they should be good as they are. Included in the files to download are a few exploded view videos of the assembly to show how it all fits together and a bill of materials so that you how many of what item you need to print for a complete titan. The videos will need to be slowed down as the exploded view captures are only limited to a few seconds as default by solidworks. READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE PRINTING!!!.
