Do you like big projects? Do you like sanding and painting? Well, if you don't, I probably wouldn't try this one.... Probably one of my favorite costume designs from the entire Star Wars saga, the Imperial Guard. Modeled in Blender over the course of a week or so, I am still in the process of printing it out myself - this is a long one. It was measured for a head with a 55-60cm circumference, so it should fit most people (says Google hat making searches....) It has a very thick hollow simply to allow for multiple shells - this is not intended to be infilled. If you do, and the end product weighs 5 kilograms, I am not responsible for neck injury! :) I decided to go REALLY easy on the poly count. I figure, thats 30 pieces, alot of polys at full resolution, and aren't we going to just sand the heck out of it anyway? so yeah, sorry for the lower res, but at the end of the day I felt it was a necessary sacrifice, probably cut printing time in half. 30 Individual pieces, how I will print the visor is still up for grabs. Probably Clear ABS with some black stocking over it. Once again, Star Wars is copyright Disney, etc etc, this is a fan-art representation made at no profit. Print, enjoy!! http://youtu.be/XOjxww76PiEPrinting Instructions Infill is not important - you want each piece to be light. I calculated for 3 shells and 0% infill for a total weight of 600 grams - but how you print it is up to you. I recommend 3-4 shells simply due to the amount of sanding that will be required to fill all the lines. I could have split this up 10 ways from Sunday, but to make it the most accessible this was the end size. Each piece is no bigger than 10cm high or 15cm wide, so it should fit in most machines with room for increased size. Assembly Refer to the video and pictures for assembly. Each piece is numbered Left to Right, from the Top to the bottom. I figure if you print in this order, you will know by parts 6-8 whether your head is going to fit in it and you wont waste too much. If It helps, I have a full scale Darth Vader Helmet which I used to Size this, and this is much bigger than a Darth Helmet (maybe not as deep) but certainly higher. Order to print parts - (by number!) 1,2,3,4,5,6 (This is the Cranium) 7,8,9,10,11,12,13 ( is the small back piece, center rear).) (this is the Eyes section) 14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21 (this is the mouth, round to the back of the neck section) 22,23,24,25,26,27 (this is the neck ) 28,29 (The 2 chest pieces)
