To replace my broken tripod mounting, which I've repaired several time by other means but I've simply given up on now that it's in shattered ruins once and for all.Fully assembled it provides for three degrees of rotation so you can set the camera at the desired angle. Design is fully printable with no glue or fasteners required (though a dab of glue in one spot might be a good idea, see instructions) EXCEPT a metal nut to hold it onto the tripod legs and a metal bolt (cut to length) to screw into the camera.Solidworks 2010 files are included.Instructions: Print all parts1 copy each of: Base Cam Mount Base Cam Mount Base Top Cam Mount Lock Mounting Plate Thumbwheel Pan Mount A Pan Mount B2 copies each of: Elevation Mount A Elevation Mount B3 copies each of: Toggle Lever A Toggle Lever B Toggle Pin== OR ==Print 1 copy each of Pan Mount Plate Cam Mount Plateand 2 copies of Elevation Mount PlateAt the end of the day you should have 21 bits. Refer to the exploded view to keep track of what you have and what you don't. Clean any rough edges but don't overdo it - the fit for the locking parts needs to be smooth but close so they will grip when locked!Insert a nut into the hole of the base. It will be a very tight fit and actually filing two sides of the hex nut may help a little, but again don't overdo it. I used a nut with a 1/16" ("coarse") thread to match my tripod.Insert a hex head bolt into the thumbwheel. The total length of the bold should be 20mm with the last 5-6mm being thread. I used a 1/4" bold with 1/16" pitch thread since it matched my tripod and camera.Assemble all the bits. While not stricktly required if you have a good tight fit, adding a dab of glue to the top platform where it joins to the rest of the assembly is not a bad idea.NOTE: "Mounting Plate" in its current form should really be printed with support. This is a screw-up on my part but I'm still considering the best way to redesign things so no support is necessary.
