I received, and built, the MakerGear ceramic heated build platform and am very happy with it, except for the aluminum plate that sits on top. I have it taped down but it was still sliding a little, not much. Didn\\'t want to attach it with something that could be hard to take off later in case need to change something, so this design was born.The design uses the existing M3 bolts for the build platform, couple extra nuts and washers, and hold everything in place nicely. Have been using the design for building my last 10-15 things and so far has held up well.A modification I did to the HBP from them was to wire up all the contacts (except for the LED light) directly to the ceramic piece underneath. I was having connection issues so epoxied the wires underneath the connections. These brackets should work for the standard install instructions.Used Catarina Mota's shapes.scad file, which have uploaded. I could not find the original post for it to give her proper credit, but thanks soo much Catarina!Print both stl files, the left (unlabeled) and right. Difference between the two is the hole offsets for bolts. After printing and cleaning, follow these steps to install 1 - Remove HBP from the Makerbot 2 - Remove screws from the mount (keeping track of which went where 3 - Place one bracket on, and secure it in place with the original bolt and an additional washer and nut (to secure the bracket) on each bolt 4 - Repeat for other bracket 5 - Level all the bolts off (to have a level platform) and tighten all the nuts down. Do not go crazy tightening them as it is easy to strip the threaded inserts out of the wood (trust me). Just tighten enough to hold it. 6 - Place platform back on and align everything. I had to use needle nose pliers to put the bolts in place as hard to move platform around with the brackets (exact point). 7 - Heat up and build.One thing which I am tempted to do, but haven\\'t yet, is get longer M3 bolts (believe they\\'re the standard 16mm length) by maybe going to M3 x 20. This is so can put nut and washer underneath to secure it a little more, but that might be overkill, plus I don\\'t have any.
