It's a little utilitarian, but this gizmo will allow you to control the shutter on the P66 Pinhole Camera with a remote cable release. A cable release allows for smoother, faster shutter speeds without jostling the camera. The camera could also be placed inside a box or bag and remotely controlled for stealth or candid shots. This is designed to be an easy retrofit to to your P66 - merely unbolt the original shutter and replace. It can also be opened and closed manually without the rubber band, but the rubber band makes a nice shutter safety device in lieu of a pinhole cap. I really wanted to use a proper tapered thread with this, going so far as to write a script in OpenSCAD to generate a mathematically-precise negative shape, but a standard 3mm nut seems to work just fine. For maximum accuracy, print with layer height 0.25mm - all critical vertical dimensions are multiples of 0.25mm. Additionally, there are three different thicknesses in the shutter blade to allow for the best possible product from your printer. The blades are coded like thus: one indention - 1.50 mm thick two indentions - 1.75 mm thick three indentions - 2.00 mm thick The shutter blade slides in a trough in the face plate, and there are two potentially rough, top surfaces rubbing on each other. Diligent attention to finish of all mating surfaces will assure a smooth (like butter!) operation. A small file works well for finishing, but sand paper could be used if necessary.
