Having orange caps on simulated weapons such as airsoft guns is extremely important. While I used to think it was cool to take them off back in the day, now that I have a few real guns I don't have the desire to remove them just to stare at it on my desk and/or take pictures for artistic purposes. I really don't want non-gun people to be scared by the fake ones either, even though to me it seems obvious which is which based on how they look and feel, so it helps there too (see pics). In addition, when that overly concerned onlooker does call the cops because clearly there are a bunch of kids with machine guns, they'll come over and check everything and you won't have a problem if everyone has proper orange caps on the front of their airsoft guns (this has happened to us before a few times, sometimes they just drive by and appear to chuckle -- please make sure you comply with local ordinances regarding airsoft guns in your area before playing outside). This cap is designed to replicate the OEM cap size and shape which is thankfully not too obnoxious so you want to remove it to not give away your position (believe it or not it does make a difference). Subtle, but definitely noticeable against the stark contrast of the black ABS housing. Without further ado, I release UTG tri-shot shotgun airsoft cap! Please print in orange or paint this Thing orange for it to be effective. ALWAYS play with an orange cap on your airsoft gun! Fun fact: this one was a legitimate accident and fell off my airsoft gun while playing in the woods because the manufacturer used a tiny dab of glue on a loose fitting part that somehow managed to break while it was relatively new. I lost it. Thanks to my 3D printer we can print a custom safety device! See pictures for further evidence of the importance of orange caps on simulated weapons. Credit for stock orange cap image goes to Evike airsoft supplier: http://cdn1.evike.com/images/large/shotgun-m3-all-1.jpg I printed this Thing in orange PLA using 15% infill, 2 shells, and .2mm layer height with very good results. It was a bit tight to get on, but it fits very snug, and I didn't need to use glue. If it falls off, I'll just print another one using <.1m of filament and glue it. 3D printing FTW!
