This is one of a series of "Altoys", toys and games that fit into an Altoid tin I developed with my 9-year-old daughter. This was inspired by those tic tac toe games at playgrounds that kids like to spin around. We added a counter for tournament play. For assembly, use standard round toothpicks for the tic tac toe pieces and the counter pieces. One side of the holes is large, the other is smaller, with a small grip to help prevent the toothpicks from spinning around while you play and messing up the game. Use a thimble or something hard as you poke the toothpick firmly into the back piece. Then, trim away at the excess wood. Insert carefully into the Altoid tin. You might have to put it in an angle and snap it it as its a pretty firm fit. Then, play tic tac toe - at home or on the go! Don't go doing anything silly like assembling this with a young kid as all these parts are small and potential choking hazards. This project is one of many "untrashables" - a collaboration with my 9-year-old daughter. We take a piece of household trash and, using 3D printed pieces, come up with something fun and/or useful.
