This is a set (growing numbers) of reusable parts for making of cases for many purposes. One of many possible applications you can make from here: a small gift box: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:516943 http://www.thingiverse.com/make:100250 You have something to gift so big it can't go through the door? Tease it with a miniature hidden in a very personal giftbox you made from here. . other application: The Question: You know this problem? A new thing needs its own new case you don't have by the hand. . Why should one buy a new specialized case for each and every different board? Exchange the board - print another case? WTH. Too much waste of time, effort and material. The answer: Reuse parts that can be shared many times. Print newly the needed specialized portions only (mostly used with openings for connectors) and add an adapted top lid if any new is needed. This thing dissects the existing enclosures (boxes) into their primitives. Those are basically cylinders, plates, frames (w./w.o. top/bottom planes). This are the parts of this modularized system are intended for. . Make your gadget with the parts taken from here or take the projectbox (remixed). Combine the things as you like. Make your gadget mobil using the additional extenderbox. Put the batteries in and have a walk through the park. Take it with you. . The files: Update: Thats my intention - keep it simple. Therefore allmost all parts from here can be printed without support. . If you make your own screws take a 3mm rod from the hardware store. If available tkae the threaded rod cut them to the length you need. If threaded rods are not available take the smooth rod an put the treads on it. It's a matter of minutes. . If needed take some instructions from here: http://www.nmri.go.jp/eng/khirata/metalwork/basic/bolt/index_e.html . When you need a threaded rod of i.E. 80mm length ist ok to work out the thread on both ends only. Threads of 10-15mm length each should cover all situations where nuts (used as screwheads) are sitting flat on surfaces or sunken in the holes. Add hatnuts or selflocking nuts or make your own caps for regular nuts. If you make the setup permanently it's adviced to lock the regular nuts with a drop of glue (Locktite or similar). . to the latch and hook with rounded bar: they are intended to be mounted together stack them with the lid plate in the middle the screws should hold both plates so openeing the lid can't rip of the parts.
