I absolutely love Dan0nator’s designs, but the devil is in the details. (UPDATE 7/4/2015) - Well, I finally got round to finishing this. Gunmetal and Metallic Black Acrylic. I don't have time for more polish and fit. The top of the Trigger needs to be trimmed in order to rotate smoothly. The magazine still needs to be shunk a bit. While it fit well, once painted it sticks. SOME RECOMMENDATIONS: Magazine Spring: Instead of trying to deal with a rubber band, I bought a spring kit from harbor depot, and one of the small compression springs worked perfectly, if you cut it shorter for the magazine. SLIDE ACTION: Also, for the slide, I drilled a hole in the slide (you can see where in the pic), and put a metal rod in to hold another harbor freight spring. I then cut off the top little cube on the back of the frame and drilled for a screw, and used a 35mm M5 screw. Mount the spring to the screw on the frame 1st. Attach a piece of string to the other end. Put the slide on with the string hanging out the back. Pull the slide just back enough to see the string, and pull the string to see the spring end, grab with some long nosed pliers and push the pin through the other end of the spring. Don't try to mount the spring the other way round (slide mounted first), as you will end up over stretching the spring. As I am using a FlashForge Creator Pro clone, some components wouldn’t fit on my bed, so I needed to slice them into different parts. Just finished the print, but haven’t gotten it complete, as I am going to do a full paint treatment to this, which is a couple weeks away from completion, but wanted to get the files up for those who are interested., as I see some folks are frustrated with the sanding needed on the mags. Also, just for ease of printing, I split up a couple of parts to they could be printed flat. So here’s what I did. Base design of course is Dan0nator’s Halo Pistol V2 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:68620 I also grabbed MTriron’s Slide W//Txt http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:536776 For the slide, I found to best get the text to print, I did a dual head print with PVA in the second head for support. Also, I needed to use some support for the rear site, as the front edge drooped on me. Other than that, I printed everything without support. Also, you will need some sanding to fit the front part of the slide into the back half of the laser site, so it can freely slide in and out. No, I haven’t sorted out the rubber band thingy to have the slide auto come forward. For the frame, I needed to chop it up to fit my bed. I then split the back portion of the frame into 2 pieces, so you could print without support. I printed the grip, the 2 parts of the laser site and hand guard without any changes. But the ends of the hand guards do need pretty good sanding to fit. But I made the trigger .4mm thinner, and it now fits in the slot without sanding. The biggest changes I made were to the magazines. They were simply too wide and too thick. This was a little tricky, because of the angle of the mags to the Z-Axis. I sorted out the rotations, and then made the mags .49mm less wide, and .45mm less thick, and they fit perfectly. I also chopped the bottoms off, so I could lay the big part of the mags on the bed, so they would be really smooth on my glass bed. PLA Print, 2 shells, 20% fill Files are oriented in the manner I printed them.
