This is a remix of the (Thinner) iPhone 5 gear case by OleEichhorn (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:464950) which in turn is a remix of the iPhone 5 gear case by BrandonW6 (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:79606) which was inspired by QuentinT's iPhone 4 gear case (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:65810). I really enjoyed the look and thinner feel of Ole's remix, but it still was missing what I consider an important part of an iPhone case: A lip around the screen to protect it from face-down drops. I added a 1mm tall lip that protrudes 1mm over the front glass to prevent the screen from cracking should I drop the phone. I only added this lip on the straight edges of the frame so it is still possible to take the case off with ease. All the parts are exactly same as Ole's except for the case frame. I printed this in ABS with no shrinkage problems though it was originally designed for PLA. All pins work correctly but may have to be sanded a bit to be inserted for the first time. You will need one of each part (the break in chuck is optional) and 1 main pin, 3 big pins, and 3 little. I recommend printing the gears and pins together with a raft, if you attempt printing the pins separately it will likely not be as clean as needed. The gears on the "lower level" (you'll understand when you print the back) use the little pins, the gears on the "higher level" use the big pins, and the largest dual-layer gear uses the main gear. Some sanding may be required in order for the gears to sit on the pin. Test fit everything, making sure all gears rotate (though it may be slightly tough to do so). Lightly sand where necessary. Superglue the back to the frame, as well as the pins to the back. Allow to dry before inserting your phone. Feel free to post questions and comments, I will help to the best of my ability.
