I am a fan of Sherlock and, for an assembly project, I created a puzzle. The original puzzle was only going to be half this size-- but I needed more space for more pictures. I took the opening credit's scene and used that for the background. Finding pictures of John and Sherlock, I edited the lighting to live trace them and make the gray scale so I had an idea of how they would show up on the wood piece. Some of the images (like the center piece of John and Sherlock running and the silhouettes) I wanted to be more dynamic, so I took a few versions of the same image but with higher or lower two-color value and combined them in Photoshop. My friend created a puzzle for her project, so she sent me her puzzle outline and I placed it on a separate layer in Adobe Illustrator. On a piece of wood that my dad gave me, I raster cut the image first, then vector cut it to create the puzzle pieces. The image is so washed out and faded because one job to place the image took a half hour and I didn't have the time to put it through again.
