This is an adapter to give my drill press a manual handle mount. This allows me to chuck a tapping bit and use it to create very perpendicular taps. This was made for a Central Machinery 5 Speed Bench Drill Press, Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/8-in-Bench-Mount-Drill-Press-5-Speed-60238.html Blog Entry http://ryanfabrications.blogspot.com/2015/03/tapping-drill-press-handle.html Print off Components. This component may not work with all drills, but adjust/design accordingly Disconnect Drill Press (Keep disconnected while using the manual handle) Clamp to the Top Pulley on the Driven side of the Drill Press using some 1/4" bolts (about an 1" Lg). Tighten. Attach magnet to handle. Make sure handle mates up (Kinda loose) to the pulley clamps. Chuck a tapping bit and clamp the workpiece accordingly. Use one hand on the drill press lever to keep pressure on the workpiece. Use other hand to manually turn the tapping bit. Return handle to storage location after use. I leave my clamps on during drill use, they don't do anything when the drill is on but spin. This has helped me get good perpendicular threads with the drill press I already own. I think the handle could be better, but its a start
