A first pass attempt at printing the frame of a small, toy, rubber-band powered flapping flying machine. This small ornithopter is based on the tutorials I've seen for wooden ornithopters on Instructables, most particularly on the tutorial by Captain Molohttp://www.instructables.com/id/Ornithopter/Known Issues Please note, this is WIP - mostly because I couldn't get it to reliably fly. It prints - it assembles - it flaps in your hands. But when I try to fly it, it manages only a few flaps before stalling.I suspect that wobbly axles are losing me most of the rubber-band power, but it could be anything at this point.I also suspect that massive weight savings could be made on future iterations of this ornithopter - the one I've uploaded here is SOLID. There is no flex, even when it's crashing nose first into the grass. There's fat to be trimmed here, for certain.Print the following:1x Ornithopter Body 2x Ornithopter Struts 2x Ornithopter Wings 1x Ornithopter TailMany of these parts (the body and wing in particular) are right on the limit of printing size, and you may need to adjust the exact printing position to get it to fit.When you have the parts, you need to drill (or melt) holes in both ends of the struts, one end of the wings, and one though the bottom tab of the body. The last holes to drill, are into the tab at the corner of the tail (drill towards the center of the triangle) and a hole into the end of the body, facing the tail. Unfortunately, the uppermost pair of tabs isn't quite big enough to fit two holes for the wing axles, so you may be forced (as I was) to glue on small beads to hold the wing axles.I'm afraid the rest of the instructions are a bit involved for here - I recommend checking out the tutorial on Instructables and going along with that.
