After looking for a nice razor here on thingiverse, i decided to construct one on my own.. Mainly because most of them, which are presented here on Thingiverse, have major issues (Why do i have to keep a screwdriver in my bathroom, in order to change the blade ?!). I'm using this Razor since July 2014 and i like.. love it :D ADVANTAGES toward other versions on Thingiverse : DISADVANTAGES : Seriously.. If you're gonna to use a single blade safety razor the first time in your life, your skin is a little bit to weak for such a beast. The first few shaves you cut yourself a bit (these cuts do not hurt that much, do not kill you, bleed just a very short moment and well for such a shave it's worth it), that's completely normal. After a week or maybe a little bit longer, depending on your usage and intensity, the cuts will get less and suddenly disappear (your own skill and the strength of your skin are the requirements, but mainly your skill with safety razors). Although cutting is not hell of fun (well it is.. for the devil :3), but shaving with this bad ass is amazing. But hey, a few cuts are no reason for not using it ! Even with a more or less dull razor blade, this razor cuts every whisker. FunFact : After 2/3 weeks I only shaved against the grain and had NO razor(after)burn. Yes, at first time using such a little monster, it's a pain in the ass. But trust me.. It is totally worth it ! (Because with increasing skill the big and ugly problems will vanish) Have fun and don't cut yourself, Your're H3R0M4T3BUY INSTRUCTIONS : Buy at least one M4 bolt with a length of 16mm and two M4 nuts to fit on (in my case the material has been brass, but you can take any metal you want, except uranium.. that is bad stuff). PRINT INSTRUCTIONS : For printing the model, take a slow printing speed (32mm/sec) and give the model a density of at least 32% and a wall thickness of at least 0.8mm. Well that's what i would recommend, but i know, that you know your 3D-Printer a lot better than i do. BUILD INSTRUCTIONS (reference to the pictures) : Step 1 : Insert the nut into the mount at the handle. Step 2 : Screw the bolt from the bottom of the handle through the nut on the top and give it a nice, but gentle last turn (PLA is durable, but not indestructible ;) Step 3 : Insert the second nut into the mount at the top-head-razor-blade-bracket Step 4 : Sandwich the head together (If this is the first bringing together of all parts, leave the head without the razor blade in order to prevent injuries) Step 5 : Screw the handle into the top nut of the head (needs some force, but not brute force) Step 6 : Turn the handle until the top thinner part can't be seen anymore. (This takes probably brute force) Step 7 : Take the cap and push over the razor head. The bolt will refuse to get pushed into the cap, but this is constructed in that way, to achieve a nice and snug fit of the cap. So take your time, push is a few times in and out , to make a nice slot for the bolt, IF IT IS STICKING OUT OF THE HEAD ! Congrats, you build your very own safety razor <3 "Step 8" : If you insert the blade, try to push is to one long side of the head. This will give you a more aggressive side (more blade is exposed) and a more gentle side (obvious, less blade is exposed).
