I made these brackets to add tail lights and front running lights to my Traxxas Rustler. Luckily the track area for our Saturday night drag races is well lit, but the slow down and turn around area is not, so lights are a big help in getting the car back. Even if your need is not the same as mine, it makes the Rustler look cooler. The rear bracket uses the existing four holes in the rear shock tower. Two holes will need to be drilled in the servo cover plate for the front bracket. The Led locations in the front bracket line up with the fog light decals in the front grill of the Rustler. You just drill them through and when the body is installed the front LED lights protrude through the fog light holes. After installing the rear bracket, and with the body installed, line up the tail light plate and super glue it to the rear bracket. I used 5mm LED's from Radio Shack for the lights and servo mounting screws to mount both brackets. The LED holes and mount screw holes may need to enlarged slightly. The LED's are wired in parallel and have a 330 Ohm resistor. The resistor is a must to avoid blowing out the LED's. I use a male servo lead on both the front and rear light assemblies, and plug them into a "Y" connector, which plugs into a spare channel of the receiver. After assembly I coat all of the exposed wiring with hot glue to protect from vibration and moisture. All three files have been run through Netfabb to correct any errors. Enjoy.I printed the brackets at 100% fill with PLA, but ABS should work equally well. All three files have been run through Netfabb to correct any errors
