This is a three player chessboard. I saw a picture of a similar (much more professional) board on the interwebs and wanted one so i started my Qcad..As wizard23s birthday was around this was the perfect gift.In the fine picture attached you see from left to right: I provide a corel draw file with different lines. One black vector circle on the outline this is to be cut trough + 48 figuresSome green vector hairlines, these are to be engraved, i used 40% power, 100% speedFor rastered engraving i used 150 DPI that was quite fast and looked good.Cut from 3mm plywood or acrylic.Spray paint figures in 3 different colors (white, black, grey looks neat)oh wait no.. that was from that other club.. nevermind. But seriously, i suggest the following base for your rules:You will notice that there are 3 lines that split the board in 3 areas Thats where the 3 different teams are positionedFigures should move as they do on a regular chess board. When a figure crosses the board on a straight line (fE pawn) and comes to the inner circle it simply appears again on the other side of the board as on an imaginary straight line.If a figure moves diagonal (like the bishop) it moves along the marked lines. For the knight you will define this yourself ;)When we played this @ wizard23's birthday party we agreed that the goal of the game was to have the last king standing and that the first player that drops out may still use his remaining figures but can not win anymore. This lead to a kamikaze round where the both remaining parties where left with one king and some pawns which would probably result in a draw, but we gave up :)We also agreed that you can not take out a figure inside a safezone from another safezone. A safezone consists of the rows 1-3. Later on we dropped that rule, but i suggest you should never cross the borders directly as this would make the game quite short (think of the rook) The figures included i took from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:855You see the rules are a bit vague yet as i only played this game once so far. So please post alternative rules in the comments below.
