NB NOTE: If you having problems with printing my designs please download them again. When we were printing them for my printer we found that some of them had errors on the mesh. Asking Nettfab to auto repair broke some of them even more. No M3 holes in the top of the corner pieces for instance and the belt tensioner split into two parts by the slicer software. I had to fix every error manually and the upload all the parts again. I believe they are now all fixed. If you find any other issues please let me know so that I can fix them. My aim with this update is to have as stable a chassis for the Prusa i3 printer as I can make it. I wanted to update my Y frame to 10mm, for the threaded rods as well as the smooth rods. I also wanted to have a positive capture of the smooth rods. Lastly I wanted to be able to bolt the whole printer to a separate solid base, so the corner pieces also have mounting pads. That led to all the printed parts on the y frame needing to be modified. NB Note that these parts will not work on their own on a standard printer as the threaded rod spacing had to change for them to fit. The whole frame is also about 6mm taller than a standard frame. The spacing between the smooth rods and the upper cross rods are still the same as standard so motor position and belt clamp should not be affected that much(I might be wrong though) will only know for sure when I built it. The 10mm smooth rods will have a knock on effect on bearing placement and print platform spacing. So look if it would affect you before committing. To Do List: The last part to be made is brackets of some sort to bolt the Z axis frame to the same base. I'm not sure yet if they will be incorporated into the lower Z motor mounts or if they will be separate parts. Comments and critique are always welcome...... :) Cheers and enjoy. Update 2015-07-19: I found an error on the motor mount, I have uploaded a new file for it. I also added the file for the Y motor rear support. Images was updated to reflect this Update 2015-07-20: I have added the Z Plate stabilizer and have also updated the images to reflect it. Update 2015-07-24: I have updated the Y Motor Mount STL file with the slot to tighten the GT2 pulley's grub screws Update 2015-07-29: I remixed and published a version of this Y frame that will work with 5/16" and 1/2" threaded rods on the request of another member.
