This light tube is the perfect project for those nice summer evenings. Instead of going through glow stick after glow stick, make your own gigantic light tube! Mix and match your own colors of plastic and LEDs to get unique effects. Lasts for ~20 Hours! This project is perfect for kids, no soldering required! Using the unique design, just stuff some aluminum foil into the Base, push your LED and Resistor into the foil, insert your battery into the Holder, and push together. All you need for this project is: Print out the following in your choice of plastic: -Cap -Base -Holder Print out the following in your choice of -translucent- plastic: -Barrel Half -> x2 -Take some aluminum foil, and using something blunt, like a Q-tip, push it into the large holes on the Base. Make sure you get plenty in there. -Now wrap short leg of the LED around one end of the resistor. Make sure this is nice and tight. Insert the long leg into the larger hole on the base, opposite the side you inserted the aluminum foil from (opposite the smaller 9v battery terminal). Insert the lead from the resistor into the the other, smaller hole next to the one you inserted the long leg of the LED into. -Now take the two barrel halves and place them together to get one full barrel. Push fit the cap on the end. Now push fit the barrel onto the Base. -Finally, insert the 9V battery into the Holder. Push fit the Holder onto the base. Note that one of the holes is larger. This is for the larger terminal of the 9V battery. The Holder will not slide all the way into the base until the battery is lined up with the two holes in the Base. You are done! The light should come on as soon as you push the Holder with the battery into the Base. If you are having trouble getting some things to stay, use a little glue here and there. Just don't glue the Holder to the Base, or you won't be able to get the 9V battery out! NOTE: I assumed 20mA LEDs. If you use something smaller or larger, just remember: (Vbat-Vled) / Iled = Resistor Value So in my case, (9V-3V) / 0.02A = 300Ohms
