This is an adapter for mounting reading glass lenses in front of a Primesense Carmine v1.09 sensor in order to improve detail resolution. Use cheap +2.5 diopter plastic reading glasses, and cut 2cm squares from the center of each lens. Unlike other designs I saw that required using a hole saw to cut a circular lens piece, this fully parametric design simplifies the build by using square-cut lenses. Inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:73258 Print in PLA or ABS, with a 0.2mm layer height, using support, oriented so the lens openings face upwards. The lenses can be glued in place with a small dab of plastic cement in each corner of the cutouts. I purchased a 3-pack of +2.5 diopter, plastic-lens reading glasses from the drug store for about $15, and then used a scroll saw to cut the lenses to size. I printed 2cm square templates (included) onto a standard 4" x 2" label sheet, and stuck those onto the lenses to guide the cuts (and protect the lenses during the cut). I tried cutting the lenses with a hacksaw, dremel cutting wheel and electric scroll saw. I found that the scroll saw was the best option, easily cutting to size, without damaging the lenses.
