a Vigenère (polyalphabetic) code wheel used to simplify the Vigenère code. this uses an alphabet composed of 16 characters. to use the wheel, you must first: A) make a 16 letter alphabet. for exemple, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,abcdefg B) mark each 1/16 of the wheel with a coresponding letter. E) after we wrote the key above the text, we go to the Vigenère chart and look at the alphabet that starts with the coresponding letter we want to encrypt, using the key (for exemple, the alphabet that we will use to encrypt the letter "a" will start with one). now, we look at the place the letter we want to encrypt is in in the normal alphabet (in our alphabet, the letter "a" is in the10th spot). the letter a=10, so we go to the alphabet that starts with 1, and there look at the 10th spot. result? a=a. so 1567 a351 a using this process, we can fill out the rest of the message. so using the code, a351=a7a7.
