Replacement Y Axis Gantry End Pieces for the PrintRite DIY 3d Printer. The originals are really bad quality plastic without enough support. The Y Gantry would rock back and forth when the Z axis moved up and down. I added a place to mount some SCS8UU bearing blocks for additional stiffnes.. I mounted one, and it stiffened the whole thing up quite nicely. In the gallery photos, the one on the left side of the printer is an earlier revision which had squared corners. I printed it with PETG at .2 mm thickness. Dimensions worked well. There are some bridged supports under the top of the stop collar over the side mounted bearing slots that have to be cut away after printing. I decided to turn up the stepper motor current for the Z-axis a little bit after installing these blocks with the little potentiometer next to the Z-Axis stepper controller to prevent skipping. This caused the stepper controller chip to run a bit hotter than I was comfortable leaving enclosed in the case, so I added a 45mm fan on the controller case cover. Seems good. Have run > 20 hours since without any issues. I also added a heated bed and workpiece fan to my printer.
