What I'll do is I will perform a scan on my son and print a 6" size bust as a sample for you and your wife to check out. To be honest I don't even know myself what kind of details we'll be able to capture. I'm also estimating the print to be about $100, but I'll have a much better idea once the sample is completed.

I primarily do the printing and the designing. Scanning is still a relatively new technology. Do you have an idea of how big you want the piece to be? Most of the cost is in the printing itself and it all depends on the volume/mass of the final product. Let me know the size of the bust that you have in mind and I can give you a rough estimate of the cost.

You can scan your wife's figure using a free application called 123D Catch by Autodesk. It's available on both iOS and Android. Once you have the model scanned you can send it to me and I can clean it up as well as design a base for it. That's up to you. Let me know if you have any questions.
