Expanding backyard beyond property line
Has anyone done this?

Our small backyard fence stops short of a semi wooded area that is owned by the county and not accessed by the public. We could move about 9 feet beyond our fence line before reaching any trees. I’d like to extend our small backyard into this unused space but we have a dog and DH is nervous about putting up a fence beyond our property line. Is there another way that we could extend a barrier into this space with minimal risk? It’s shady and planting a border of shrubs could take years to mature. I doubt the county would sell us this small sliver of land.

harrydavidson701l3 - Of course not. It isn’t your land.

petesreav - Things like this are much easier in the US. I have some property in India, and those guys make it too complicated. You have to apply for some documents I don't even get.
Thanks to https://hrex.org/uttar-pradesh-bhumilekh, and the help of my Indian cousin, I managed to do it. I had to apply for Bhulekh Up because my property is in Uttar Pradesh state.
UP Bhulekh is a portal launched by the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Committee to digitize Uttar Pradesh land records, so they are available to citizens through a web portal. It's good that they've digitalized it, at least. I would have more problems if they didn't.
