Infill for something small?
So this is the first time I'm getting something 3D printed that I designed and I'm clueless as to what I need for infill on my item. From what I got Googling it seems it's more for big items that don't need to be completely filled in? The walls in my box are 2mm thick for the most part, only place where the walls will be thicker is where the battery will go: http://i.imgur.com/L0SifHH.png?1 So does infill not matter much for my item?
I'm interested in the Clear ABS, this box is for a small ecig I'm trying to make, thinking it would be nice to have some transparency in the box to see a bit inside. I was doing some final edits on this before submitting my order but thought I'd make sure I chose the right options before submitting the order. Since I have some small dimensions in there I'm choosing the 0.1 layer height and have no idea on the infill % I should choose.

garyg - Hi
I do not own a 3D printer, but I have had a number of projects printed by Dan Kelly who
lives within walking distance from where I live.
I usually specify 15% infill on projects like yours, but
I think more important for your project is to make your wall thickness in 0.4mm increments.
If your printer person uses 0.4mm extruder nozzle, and you specify that you want 2 shells
I think your design would print quite good, but you would still be having 15% infill
between the shells of only about 15%.
..
What I would do in your situation is to do a Find 3D Printers search to see if you
can locate someone that lives close to you and would be willing to share their
printer specification with you. The Makexyz printer people are very friendly and willing
to help.
Just a suggestion.
SomeDay, I think I will own a 3D printer myself.

blind123 - There was actually 1 guy in my city that does printing but he only does PLA, next nearest was maybe 3 hours. As my project is meant to hold electronics and well, contain the heating elements that make an ecig work, it's going to make some heat. From what I've read PLA doesn't handle heat very well, even though it's not going to be heat directly on it I was wanting to stick with ABS.

I actually asked the same question about infill on Reddit and a few days later a guy that does 3D printing, who says he's also here in MakeXYZ, offered to take a look at my project and see if he could do it. He gave me a deal and said he could do 100% infill and toss in my project with someone elses print.

garyg - Hi again
I had the 1st few projects printed in ABS, but found that the cost ended up pretty high.
I've been having my last 5 or 6 projects printed in PLA.
Cost is less and I can do several development improvements easier.
So far, I've only had one failure due to the PLA material, but it had to do
with my design and extreme temperatures. I'm not really sure if printing my failed design
using ABS would make the failure not happen, so I'm working on redesigning the part.
It's good that you found people you can directly communicate with.
Getting started is the most difficult part of the 3d printing adventure.

rebecca - I saw your project about the 3 D painting. It is so nice. I appreciated to your thinking and the imagination but I think that source www.aresearchguide.com/edubirdie-review.html needs more efforts and try to make it the best. I also make an idea for painting but I have no time to fulfill the idea.
