I have been pretty busy. I hope everyone else is as well. However, notice that the community that we used to have is kind of falling apart a little. We arent talking as much or posting....

Whats happening guys?

elpulpo - Ermmm....

Yeah. I was pretty busy over Christmas. Got a big job with a hard deadline in mid-Feb so that's been taking up plenty of time. Must have spent a hundred hours twiddling the knobs in Meshlab since Xmas eve. Wouldn't stop me joining a hangout if you organised one though! :-D

elpulpo - Come to think of it, one reason this community might be turning a little sour could be the fact that the odd poster seems to think it's intended for them to post advertisements for their services. I don't know how many community members there are but I'm sure that if we all did this, the forum would collapse pretty quickly. Course, it could be that people simply don't like me. Well, I am an acquired taste. :-)

bendbrad - I've started a conversation with Andrew from Ninjaflex regarding the hardness of their filament. Here are the transcripts of our emails to date (in reverse order chronologically):

Andrew,

I would like to know how this is possible. What is the hardness of your two types of Ninjaflex filament? Why is it I have a printed part with your filament and the Shore A hardness is 70? Test by 2 different durometers. How would one be able to improve the hardness? Is it the build process - microns per layer - or machine - or ?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks,
Brad
To: <brad
Brad,

The durometers I gave you are for the printed objects.

Hi Andrew,

Those are good hardnesses. The issue is the build process creates too many air pockets and the final print is less than the hardness of the filament. So I need to look into other methods of prototyping these types of parts. Casting urethane and small scale rubber compression molding are alternatives.

Thanks,
Brad

Brad,

Thank you for your inquiry on NinjaFlex. We currently only have an 85a and a 98a durometer filament. Are you looking for someone to print your parts as well? Feel free to reach out to me directly with any further questions you may have. Thanks!

vinnie90 - Yea, that is what I figured. There is a standard way to measure the hardness of something and it is most likely a solid block of ninjaflex to specific dimensions. When you FDM print something you will most likely have air pockets no matter what, because of the way it prints.

bendbrad - Andrew stated that the printed parts are of 85a and 98a. I've asked for clarification as to how that is possible. Still awaiting his reply.

bendbrad - Here is reply to my inquiry regarding printing Ninjaflex to stated hardness:

"
We had NinjaFlex samples printed on two separate machines (Lulzbot Taz 4 and MakerBot 2X) with 100% in-fill. We then had these sent out for independent testing and got results from 83-85 sure A. You could improve the printed object's hardness by adjusting the fill rate. Other than fill rate, we use standard ABS settings with temperature between 220-230c and speed from 20mm/s to 30mm/s. I hope this helps, feel free to contact me with any other questions. Thanks!

jorge2222 - I know you guys are a few die hards, as I've been reading from time to time as a 3D tech fan, so hope you guys don't disappear. I think the banter here is rather realistic and thoughtful without being time-wasters or off tangent. I have tried to get a part made a while ago, not something critical but something I wanted to see as a 3D part, nothing came of it not that I did not want to pay but the maker dragged it out for some odd reason (none of you's). Since it was not super important I dropped it as well but hopefully with your new setup of us submitting parts to be made and you dividing it up amongst yourselves works out.

vinnie90 - Thanks for putting up with us! lol

Sorry to hear about you problem with your printer. Hope that you find someone to work with you. Hopefully they will not drag @ss but actually speed the process up for you.

and no, the new feature is terrible. I have not gotten any jobs since it started. The community you talk about..... well we all kinda went our ways. 3D Printing is more than making money. To some of us it is a passion that unites us with crazy, fun, makers out there. I am really good friends with some of the customers I met on here. Not to mention the 3D Printer friends. They are crazy but really cool and super knowledgeable.

I hope everything works out for you. Im sticking in there... hopefully the owners of the site know what they are doing.

ewell55 - I'm a member of the makexyz community but it seems like there's almost no one on here anymore I wonder if anyone else feels the same way. Now, I have decided to join this https://www.dissertation-service.org/economics-dissertation/ site to get online dissertation service from expert writers.

ewell66 - The holiday season is a time of family friends love and gifts It’s also a time when many people get sick with the flu or cold If you were one of those who had to battle the bug you may have found yourself spending more time in bed than usual over Christmas Even though it was your choice not to work or go out during that period you may be concerned about missing days at work. You may also visit https://www.dissertation-service.org/economics-dissertation/ site online during this period to get your educational assignments complete on time.

alexis8 - I used to work with Makexyz printing jobs on the platform and I thought it is the greatest thing ever. Nowadays it seems like the whole Makexyz printing part of this community is dead. There is no activity on the website at all, as well as no one is replying to my messages. I have posted some articles with the help of https://trustessaywriting.org/ source on the related topics on this website. And I hope that this issue will be solved soon because I really loved working with Makexyz and I would like to see the community alive again.
