Plasti Dip for printed parts
I am always on a search to find a easy way to get rid of layers on a printed part.

My friend was talking about plasti dip for his rims. I thought I would give it a try and let you guys know what happened.

Dont get your hopes up....it just goes on like spray paint. I suppose you could layer it, layer it, layer it, layer it, and you might get rid of your layers....but after 3 coats it looks the same.

elpulpo - Yeah, Vinnie. I've used PlastiDip on my 3D prints from time to time. No doubt it does take a good few coats of the rattle can stuff but it sticks really well, especially to ABS. I've also actually dipped things with the goopy stuff that comes in cans and that comes out awesome. It's great for grippy knobs and whatnot.

shafran1 - Hey you should check out XTC-3D by smooth-on.... Its a coating you paint on and it really takes out layer lines and is pretty easy and inexpensive to use!
