Portfolio Size for Professional Management?
I have been discussing with my family whether a portfolio should ever be "professionally managed" with the help of a consultant once it grows to a certain size. I think a DIY index portfolio done properly is the best option regardless of the size of the portfolio. I hate to see people paying high commissions to mutual funds and not getting what I consider valuable in return, although I understand that many people are uncomfortable with doing their own investments.

In addition, there was an opinion that it would be convenient for them to manage their own portfolio for some time, but as soon as it reaches a certain value, say, 500 thousand-1 million, it would be better if it was managed professionally, so that someone else could manage the money and make better decisions. It was also mentioned that a portfolio manager could include the best " strategies, options, etc.".

I said that regardless of the size of my portfolio, I will stick to my index portfolio and asset allocation.

I wonder what other people's opinions are. Should I open my mind? Is professional management really necessary once your portfolio grows to a certain level?

drascons - It is necessary to invest correctly, and this is a whole science. No wonder many rich people hire financiers who recommend what to invest in and how to save your money. I disagree with the opinion that finance is a self-regulating industry. For real, everything in our world is regulated by specialists who understand what do they do. Some many pieces of training and programs can help you to understand https://wealthtender.com/professional-designations/what-is-an-accredited-asset-management-specialist-aams/ from inside and master it. The database that you get will help you independently take control of your company's financial aspects.
