I think a DIY index portfolio done properly is the best option regardless of the size of the portfolio. I hate to see people paying high commissions to mutual funds and not getting what I consider valuable in return, although I understand that many people are uncomfortable with doing their own investments.

I said that regardless of the size of my portfolio, I will stick to my index portfolio and asset allocation.
