I want to get something 3D printed, I have never done this before, and was looking for some ideas on what I could print.

I checked out thingiverse, but I wanted to come straight to the source.......... what are the coolest things you have created on your 3D printer? Pictures?

vinnie90 - Gear cubes are always the coolest thing to do. You have mothers day coming up and the gear heart would be a cool idea as well.

meshlab - I really love this elephant because it prints all in one piece but it's legs, head, and trunk are all jointed. Plus it's cute. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:257911
Also, there are some great helpful tools you can look up such as iPhone cases, headphone cord wraps, desk organizer stuff, bearings, and other stuff like a replacement leg for your keyboard, replacement wheel for luggage. Have fun looking. Tons of free files available on other websites too. Smithsonian has some impressive stuff and Grabcad is great for tools.
