Things I've Made

About me

I had helped architects and designers to print their models, some times making suggestions on how to print or add support material/techniques to make their pieces printable. As an engineer myself, I can understand their specific needs.

My Delta Printer, a Rostock Max, has a rounded heated bed, with diameter of 280 mm and a height of 320 mm. It is very well calibrated to produce nice printings in a very reasonable time. Capable to print at 0.05 mm layer, I usually go at 0.15 mm/0.2mm to balance between speed and quality.

Print in ABS, PLA, Nylon and PETT (T-Glass), PLA WOOD (has wood chips, though not real wood).

My Reviews

Monica E.

Art is really good, the best I would say! He not only understood very quickly what I needed, but also walked me through the different options to print my model. Not only materials (he has A LOT of different materials, Wood, Nylon, Carbon Fiber, besides PLA and ABS), but also, other printing parameters to get the best strength and quality. He really enjoys explaining how the 3D printing technology works and all the parts involved in the process. He is a true maker who likes others to know how to build things! On top of that, he also sent me a time-lapse video on how the print was done, how cool is that!?. Oh, and his printers (I think he has 7?) are "Delta bots", really interesting new technology! Definitely I will keep printing new models with him and would recommend him to everybody, no doubts about it! M.E.

Art was really great. He was in contact daily from when I first messaged him, till I got my project in the mail. He offered great advice regarding the material best used for my project, and was very fast with the turn around once details finalized. He let me know the project would take about a week due to his workflow, but ended up having the pieces ready in a few days. He also sent me a sample piece using the plastic of choice so I could test on that before making any changes that could mess up my final project. Would strongly recommend Art to anyone needing something printed as he has a great selection of material to use. Most notably the PLA-Wood plastic. Which is crazy awesome. Will definitely contact Art again for any future printing needs.

Art Mendoza - Brandon, was a blast working on your pieces. And, definitely, my pleasure to print something that matches with your beautiful hunting bow and arrows, those are pieces of art.

Working with Mr. Mendoza was a pleasure. He was punctual with all communications from the very first, "Yeah, I'll print that." My model had a problematic shape: there were some nooks and crannies that would have required an inconvenient arrangement of support material. He found a way around this problem by printing my model in two ABS parts and neatly fusing them with acetone. I set a max price and a turnaround time of 3 days. Both of these tight constraints were met by Mr. Mendoza. This print has led me to appreciate the convenience of local 3d printing services. Thank you!

Art Mendoza - It was my pleasure! I hope you get more involved in the 3D printing community and soon you will be printing your own original designs. You already know that this is hard fun :-)

I came to Art with an unreasonable request: to print 2 large parts and have them ready in under 24 hours. He graciously accepted, and then put in extra time when the parts didn't come out as planned. Due to the time limitations I had put him under, the final result ended up being a bit rough around the edges. He recognized this and even told me that he was rather embarrassed by the final product. Art genuinely cares about his work and wants to deliver a quality result. Unfortunately he had to compromise to meet my tough requests.

Art Mendoza - Thanks for the kind words. I am glad that, at the end, you got that prize despite all the bumps! :-)

Art really did a terrific job helping me with my 3D printing needs. Not only was he able to accomodate any print he had, he was even willing to let me learn how to 3D print using one of hs very own printers. He loved telling people about his passion of 3D printing, and was a real joy to work with. I would highly reccomend Art for any of your 3D printing needs. He is the MAN!

Art Mendoza - Thanks for your comments Adam, I feel flattered by your words. By the way, keep going training all Houston children in 3D printing and modeling, this is something truly needed :-)

I have worked with Art for more than 6 months now, and it has been a pleasure. It's always great to work with someone who not only responds almost instantly, but somehow always prints things in great quality for you before your deadline. Art also cares about every project he prints, so I can always depend on him to get a working result. Thanks, Art.

I do not usually write reviews at all (shame on me!) but I really did not know what to expect as a final product. So I truly hope that this quick note can serve as a future reference for someone else. I have to say that both the quality of the product and the speed of the service were superb. Great job, and thanks Art!

Art was very helpful and very patient with my order. It's important to work with some one who is patient as a lot of things about this new technology are unknown to most people. My file had several kinks, of which Art took his own time to smoothen out without charging me extra.

Art Mendoza - Hey Rodrigo, I liked your final result, was well balanced design. I know you will become a great architect (wait, you already are! ;-) )

Nathan T.

Art went the extra mile on my order. I had numerous copies of the same small piece that were supposed to snap together. Art made several sample runs and used his printing knowledge to get the pieces just right. He was quick and professional. Very happy with how the project worked out.

Art was super helpful with my project. Very informative and kept you updated every step of the way. He even included an extra print with a different material as a sample and to compare with my other pieces. I'm definitely going to be printing my future projects with him.
