About me
Hi! My name is Edward. I started an open hardware desktop CNC milling machine project called "Shapeoko a few years. Between my time working, and expanding Shapeoko, I also like to 3D print.
I have an Up! Plus 3D printer with a 120mm^3 build platform. Although it prints in PLA, ABS prints turn out much nicer and are more reliable. The print resolution on the machine can be as low as 0.15, and as high as 0.40.
The Up! has a cool support feature, where it prints break away material (same as filament) to support any overhanging parts. Compared to my makerbot, the support process is significantly better with the Up Plus. The material breaks away cleanly but gives plenty of support while printing.
Most of my prints are "parts" for other printers or new machines I'm working on.
