In addition to 3D Printing I have the capability to do glass etching and cutting, screen printing, vinyl stencils or signs, lathe work and custom designs. Send me a message if you're interested in any of these services! If you need a part duplicated I can offer 3D scanning services as well.
Most prints cost around $10-20 The first print is almost always more expensive than the 2nd and 3rd prints so if you're worried about price per unit, consider getting multiples. 3D printing is a super cheap way to create a unique piece or a piece which doesn't exist. If the product exists in a store it's probably cheaper to get it there.
The maximum print size of the printers I have available is [9.7 X 6.0 X 6.1 IN] for ABS or [20 x 19 x 16in] for PLA
3D printers work by putting down bits of melted plastic one layer at a time. This makes them extremely flexible in what they can print but also adds some complexity to the design process.
Tips for Great Prints
1) Remember gravity: any part of a print that isn't supported by something lower in the build is likely to droop or not print correctly. Prints that have large over hangs can use automatically generated support structures to keep them in place. The supports are removed after the print is completed.
2) Large overhangs are trouble - this is essentially the same as above. Just like in a house, large open spaces require supports to ensure they don't collapse
3) ABS shrinks while it cools. If you are trying to get a print that fits with an existing piece, there's going to be some trial and error.
