About me

This is a Rostock MAX, a delta-format machine similar to the Kossel, with a single extruder, a v5 e3d all-metal hotend, capable of more than 300 c. It has a 95 c heated build surface. Build volume is a 280 mm x 360 mm tall cylinder. I currently have 1.75mm ABS filament on hand, but can easily acquire ABS and PLA of a variety of desired colors, and am testing the machine's capability with nylon.

The delta format printer layout provides an exceptionally precise and stable machine, with the added benefit that the workpiece does not move during printing, unlike many Cartesian format printers. For figurines, sculpted models and zBrush prints especially, the Rostock MAX has one of the largest build volumes available and is a perfect fit for a maquette or figurine print.

With a single hotend, the machine is not currently capable of printing soluble support material or dissimilar support material for undercuts (overhanging materials with a greater than 45 degree outward slope). Some bridging is feasible but needs to be tuned on a case-by-case basis.
