College student here with a Makerbot Replicator 2X! I have a small business that I use my Makerbot for to make my products primarily. Since I've started producing stock, I have found myself with a free print bed most days.

I can print all the way down to a .1mm layer height if need be, but prefer to run most prints at .3mm due to the print time difference. I print primarily in ABS. My printer is capable of dual extrusion so I can print two different filaments during the same job. This comes in handy if you have a print with lots of overhangs. The support material can be printed in dissolvable filament (HIPS) making the impossible, possible!

Pricing for ABS:
$.25/cm3 w/ .3mm layer height
$.50/cm3 w/.2mm layer height
$.75/cm w/.1mm layer height

HIPS is set at $.35/cm3 no matter the layer height


For the absolute best results, have your detail tolerances set to the nearest .5mm. If you're unsure what would be the best layer height for your job, do not hesitate to contact me for help!
