About me
I am a CNC programmer/operator by day. I have been doing 2d CAD work for about 30years and 3d CAD work for maybe 15years. Around 2014 I started designing things that a friend would print, I got my own printer in 2021 added a 2nd printer in 2024. As a machinist by trade I print a lot of tooling and fixture type stuff. I am also a Scuba Instructor and print a lot of scuba related items. As a Grandfather of 5 boys I also make toys. Most toys are printed in PLA but I mostly use PETg for other things for its strength and ability to handle higher temps like outside. I have also printed with TPU and Flex plastic but not often. I have used ASA but I'm not set up for the toxic fumes and heat shielding to prevent warping so I seldom use it.
