About me
Leonard Barrit is a visual effects artist for film, television, and games. He has used this Makerbot Replicator 2 to create custom camera rigs, maquettes from digital sculpts, hand held props, miniature sets as well as rapid prototypes.
This Makerbot Replicator 2 has over $1500 in mechanical and software upgrades to increase precision and reliability. This printer can use most available materials, but I prefer to use PLA and T-Glase because neither produce harmful gases when melted.
This printer can print reliably down to 70 microns Z layer height. Normal resolution is 100 microns for PLA & 220 microns for T-Glase.
