About me

We are a public high school with a developing engineering technology program. You are providing students with real-world experience as they produce 3D printed components, laser cut/laser engraved pieces, and CAD design. Design work will be performed using SolidWorks software and you will be working with students who have achieved the CSWA (Certificate SolidWorks Associate) designation.

The Dimension uPrint SE printer uses a soluble support material which allows for complex part creation and part geometries which are difficult, or impossible, to create with a basic plastics printer. this printer uses a proprietary filament. We typically keep Ivory and black ABS in stock. ABS is paintable when properly primed, however if your project dictates, the following colors are available for special order: White, Dark Gray, Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow, and Olive Green.

We have a MendelMax 1.5 and Prusa that are used for PLA plastics. In stock colors are Black, Silver, Gold, and Clear. Numerous other colors are available for special order. These are open-source printers and therefore the print cost if much less expensive than the uPrint.

The Trotec laser engraver has a maximum bed size of 12" x 24" and can cut materials up to 1/2" in thickness. Common materials cut or engraved with the laser include acrylic, wood, paper, plastics, glass, leather, and stone. We also have a rotary attachment for engraving glasses, bottles, stemware, and anything round (up to 5.5" diameter) Please note, you will be unable to use the laser on PVC or pressure treated wood.
