Things I've Made

About me

(Note* Due to the number of ongoing projects I am unable to take on too many print projects at this time. Therefore, I have raised my rates to reflect this for those who absolutely need something printed, however I may still have to pass up a print job based on time permitting).

Currently I am running a An Afinia H479 3D printer. It can prints at 0.15mm layer height to 0.4mm, and has a 140x140x135mm build platform but comfortably prints up to about 130x130x130mm. This really isn't an issue though if you plan ahead knowing the printer's print range and then designing your item to be printed in multiple parts to later be assembled into one item which will also give you a much more dimensionally accurate part overall. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keep in mind that a 3D printer lays down material in layers, so any surface that has an overhang greater than 45 degrees may require support material which will increase your cost for the part. This is only a rough guideline as I have also printed overhangs greater than 45 degrees, but requires more careful design. My machine is only a single extruder type meaning the support material will be of the same plastic material being used for the main print. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some of the more interesting things I have printed recently have been parts used for appearance models like a honey comb profile for an axe handle, a food slicer mold used for thermoforming, 3D placards, custom guitar picks, printer parts, gearing, and game pieces. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I also like to make sure my customers are completely satisfied with the prints they receive. One way I attempt to achieve that is by providing multiple prints if the quality seems questionable. Not everyone has had experience designing parts meant for 3D printing, and so there will undoubtedly be some issues getting certain parts to print. These are the folks that tend to benefit most from my service as I will make several attempts to print until I can get the best print I can with my machine. The customer can keep any of the not so good prints just in case they are still usable for whatever the project may be; this is another reason as for the higher pricing. Additionally, keep in mind what your part is going to be used for. Is it something structural and/or intended to be a usable part versus an appearance model or part? Be prepared to answer some questions about what it is you desire from the print, as I will contact the customer to get better details as to what is desired. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Picture descriptions:
(Pic.1) Gear. Printed in nylon. 0.1mm layer height.
(Pic.2) Appearance model part. Printed in ABS natural. 0.3mm layer height.
(Pic.3) Water bottle prototype. Printed in ABS natural. 0.3mm layer height. Printed to be water tight only for testing. Meaning it can hold water, but only for a limit amount of time. ABS is moisture absorbent.
(Pic.4) Water bottle prototype assembled.
(Pic.5) Water bottle lid close up of layers.
(Pic.6) 3D printer parts. Printed in ABS natural. 0.3mm layer height.
(Pic.7) Telescope eye piece adapter mount to digital camera board. Printed in ABS natural. 0.3mm layer height.
(Pic.8) Surface smoothing treatment available at additional cost, and dependent on part design as not all parts can handle the treatment.
