Things I've Made

About me

Hi there, I'm a 3d printing hobbyist, enjoying this exciting new technology.

I have two reliable 3d printers, both Artillery Sidewinders (one X1, one X2), which print a variety of colors of PLA plastic or PETG.

My process is this:
- You send me one or more digital files (preferably STL or 3MF files, but OBJ are OK, too, with some information about scale) and what color you want the piece printed in.
- I figure out the estimated time to print, and the meters of filament required. I do complex math (adding the two numbers together) and send you an invoice.
- Once you've paid the invoice, I print out the part(s).
- I like to meet up in person at some locally convenient place. My first MakeXYZ job was for a customer about a mile away from my house, so it was much easier to drop it off than to pack it up. Also, some jobs are fragile, so I can more easily transport them, knowing that. On top of that, it's nice to meet up - it's nice to see people excited about the results. Or, if they're not excited, and want something else, or something better, we can have that discussion right away.
- repeat!

Some people have asked, but I do not currently offer scanning services. I do not do design work. I'd be happy to do printing of models generated by somebody else (e.g. Thingiverse, etc).

I have been asked if I can print replacement parts for appliances. If you have a digital file for the replacement part, then maybe, but my printed replacement part is almost certainly going to be more fragile than the factory part, so 3d printing might not be a good route to solving your problem.

I have been asked if I can make replacement keys. Again, if you have a 3d file for your key, then maybe, but again, a plastic key is likely to be fragile, and seems like a bad idea to be sticking a plastic key into a lock.

-Dave

great, they were to the point, had good insights/ guidance for how to get my idea to do what it needed to do, and also gave me some nice options when there were aspects to the print that were up to me. Will be asking Dave for other prints again soon!
