Anybody notice that if you type in your specific zipcode or town and then hit enter you get guys that aren't even close to your area that come up ahead of you in the listings?

I even went as far as the Chicagoland with a search and saw a printer from San Jose , Ca. listed as one of the first 5 on page one.

I'm just curious. Is this becoming a pay as you go type service to sell listing positions to the highest bidder?

Anybody else notice anything strange in their area?

I checked again today and two printers that are over 100 miles away are holding the top spots for our area..

elpulpo - Yeah. I think there may be something a tad screwy in the location part of the site. I certainly don't get a listing in order of geographical proximity. Sure, the first couple are close but the rest of the list seems more-or-less random. I come in at number 4 in the list, and have always done so, which is rather strange, because I'm now listed as being in the US - That seems to be another problem. I don't seem able to alter my location in my profile. Seems more of a glitch than anything else to me but I wish Nathan would sort it out.

elpulpo - Just entered my own location ( near London, UK ) into the the "Find 3D printers" page. Sure enough, I'm at the top. Then 3 fairly local printers, followed by one in Germany and one in San Jose. After that, there are more printers in the UK.

Go figure!! LOL

elpulpo - AHH! Im beginning to understand the problem!

When you go to edit your printer - Say you want to add a new material - The location defaults to the US and you need to type in your location again. If you don't, it'll still list you in your usual location but the location text in your profile will change.

bmmal - I checked my zip code under the individual printer info, it is correct. But I get the same weird results. I'm not even on the first 3 pages....

bmmal - I take that back... it seems to have updated but was weird before I saved a change (that wasn't really a change) on my profile.
