- AFAIK the only CCD webcam you can buy today is the Logitech C270, which happens to be about $20 these days. CMOS cams tend to smear when something is moving fast in frame. You'll need to void the warranty to use it at close range... Take the bezel off, scratch away the dab of glue on the lens threads, re-focus. The mount is meant to fold over the top of a laptop screen, so it's got a couple hinges, and a nice flat "tongue" shape good for slipping into a makeshift 3D-printed mount.
I've been using the free version of Visec to serve... It serves an appropriate feed depending upon the client. I've tried destop machines, and my android phone... both look great & support panning / zooming.

- I use my printer primarily for prototyping an invention I'm working on. I would not want other people to watch my job. So, I plan to issue a username/password to a client, enable it only when their job is running. Visec allows fine-grained permissions, and is also free if you're streaming only a single camera.

- For YouTube, you can set your videos to unlisted and send your client a link to view the video. My outgoing internet connection limits my quality of video so I can't get 720p. I started using a security camera for my feeds but changes to a webcam because it was much easier to setup with YouTube or Ustream. It all depends on how you want to set up your camera and personal preference.

- A printer cam is a great idea and can make it easy to control your printer. Although you can check https://munbynscan.com/munbyn-handheld-computers-scanner-pda/ and get away without one, they're a lot more convenient if you have the right software. In this article we'll look at which ones are the best and how to setup one if you do decide to buy one.

Here is an example of my live feed that is then saved in YouTube as a video to watch.

You need to go into you Video Manager settings then Live Events in YouTube to set up the live feed option.
I would suggest turning off the sound when you stream or they can hear you talking when the printing is in progress.
